Our family is in love with Duck Dynasty! You can find my hubby and I cuddled up on the couch laughing our heads off watching them. Since my husband loves them so very much, I made him some cookies for his Birthday!
Hope ya like and Happy Happy Happy Birthday my love! ;) Quack Quack!

Daughter of God Week

So this is the finished product of Daughter of God week! Just thought you might want to see the pictures. Enjoy!

Assembling all the girls packets! Fun times. ;)

The completed packet! I just got some random envelopes. Big. Small. I also got some cute patterned ones that were just like little file folders. We slipped the goods inside and tied it all up with a bow! I also found some cute printable's on holy handouts! (see Daughter of God tag)
If you were wondering what song I put onto the CD, it's I am His Daughter by Nicole Sheahan. It was a hit for sure and I recommend it!

After participating in the Daughter of God week we decided to end with a luncheon to break our fast the following Sunday. I made these little temple and crown cookies. So fun!

All in all it was a great week of rediscovering who we really are! A Daughter of a Heavenly King.

Rach

Daughter Of God Week

I have been lucky enough to be a leader in the Young Women's program at my Church.  For those of you who don’t know, Young Women's is where all the girls, 12 to 18 years meet together to learn about Jesus Christ. We have lessons, sing songs, play reverent games and are spiritually fed.  Spending time with these sweet girls has been a wonderful faith building experience for me. Who knew that someone so young had so much to teach me! I'm so thankful for that.
So to help them build their faith in who they are as a Daughters of God, we have put together a Daughter of God week. It is a beautiful way to help them draw closer to God, if they choose to do it. We give them a week worth of envelopes. Each envelope has a day written on it and inside is a challenge to help them draw closer to Heavenly Father. I first found the idea HERE. I then found some more ideas HERE.  I felt strongly that we needed to do this for our YW so THIS is what I came up with. I personalized it a little bit and added a couple things from the original ideas I found so I don't take all credit what so ever. All in all, however, I'm excited about it and hope that our YW will be too! I'll post the finished product once it's done. ;) This is for personal use only. :)
I hope everyone is great out there! Have a great day!

Rachel

The Rice Bag

The Rice Bag:
Its's all in the bag baby! This bag is perfect if you are new to sewing.
I made some when I had a kink in my neck.
I warmed mine up for 3-4 minutes and it worked like a charm.
Materials:
2 pieces of material (I used scraps, about 20x5)
Rice
Fresh Lavender or Vanilla bean pods (depending on how strong you want the scent)
Sewing machine and thread

Step1: Lay material right sides together. Pin and sew edges.

Step2 : Flip right side out. Fill with rice and desired scent.

Step3: Fold, Pin and Sew Close

Enjoy!
