Have you ever wondered how on earth do those two pieces of fabric stay together? They have to sew them right?!? Wrong! Well guys, for some time I have wondered how the heck you make a tie blanket. I know, I know... I may be lame for not knowing how to do one but I don't care. The secret...... you simply tie away. Yes, my Mother and I were in a happy tying frenzy and decided to try making this blanket together. My little man is obsessed (thats an understatement!) with Toy Story. So we found some "Woody the Cowboy" look alike material he loved and went to work. It was SO EASY! We finished it all in an hour. :)
So come along and tie away.... we're going to make a tie blanket.
Materials:
Cutting Mat
Rotary Cutter
Rotary Ruler Set (ruler)
2 prints of Anti Pill Fleece, 1 1/2 Yards for each print(or whatever size you want it)
Step 1: Laying it Out
First you have to lay out your two pieces of fabric on top of each other, wrong sides together. Make sure it's the shape and length you desire and edges are matched up pretty close.
Step 2: Cut
You then cut out the corners by 5x5.... like your cutting a square out of your four corners. See picture.
After you cut your corners out, start cutting strips around your edge. I cut them about 5 inches in while leaving them 1 to 1 and 1/2 inches apart. See picture.
Step 3: Tie
Tie strips in a knot. Right over left and left over right.
Step 4: Snuggle
Viola! Now you can snuggle in it...
Happy Tying everyone! Loves!
I recently bought some of that cowboy fabric too!
